Various Production Positions

Production Machine, Laboratory, and Printer Operators

The Wauford Group, a family of diverse companies, located in the Chester area, is now accepting applications for various Production positions.  All of these positions are located inside in a temperature controlled environment.

These positions require experience in performing one or more of the following:

  • Using PLC controlled machinery and equipment to load large roll good material into a thermal calendaring line.
  • Monitors and adjusts PLC controls of thermal rolls as dictated by quality lab checks to ensure the proper specifications are obtained.
  • Operating and monitoring flexographic print decks through PLC and visual controls to ensure the proper specifications, color and brightness are obtained on the product.
  • Operating a state of the art testing laboratory. Testing samples of production material to ensure that it meets customer and building industry specification.
  • Operating state of the art converting and robotic equipment that ensures the finished product is packaged and labeled correctly.
  • Prepares operational and quality assurance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Maintenance Mechanical Position

The Wauford Group, a family of diverse companies, located in the Petersburg area, is now accepting resumes for Maintenance Mechanic positions.

Qualifications needed: Minimum of two years of experience in an industrial environment; Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance and Troubleshooting Background; Ability to use Electrical Diagnostic Equipment; experience with multiple styles of packaging equipment; ability to learn various processes, equipment repair and preventive maintenance.

Duties include: Maintain various pieces of industrial equipment by troubleshooting electrical and mechanical hardware problems; Perform electrical and mechanical preventive maintenance on machines; maintain facility hardware and mechanical systems; knowledge and understanding of Industrial Machine Operation and Maintenance and basic understanding of mechanical systems.

Must have good organizational skills; follow safety rules and be self-directed as well as working along with the team.

Facilities Electrician

The Wauford Group, a family of diverse companies located in the Tri-Cities area, is searching for a Facilities Electrician to join our team. You will be responsible for installing and repairing electrical wiring, and lighting systems working from a technical blueprint. To perform in this role you need an electrician degree from a technical college and experience in the field working on simple and complex electrical systems.

Facilities Electrician Responsibilities:

  • Read technical diagrams and blueprints.
  • Perform general electrical maintenance.
  • Pull all types of cable, i.e. power, Ethernet, fiber, etc.
  • Inspect transformers and circuit breakers and other electrical components.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate of testing devices.
  • Work with mechanics to resolve machine based electrical issues.
  • Repair and replace equipment, electrical wiring, or fixtures.
  • Follow National Electrical Code state and local building regulations.
  • Circuit breaker corrective maintenance.
  • Good knowledge of various test equipment.

Facilities Electrician Requirements:

  • Completion of electrician apprenticeship.
  • Experience working as an electrician.
  • High school diploma.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Hold a Virginia Electrician License.

Maintenance Electrician

The Wauford Group, a family of diverse companies located in the Tri-Cities area, is searching for a Maintenance Electrician to join our team. You will be responsible for maintaining various pieces of industrial equipment by troubleshooting electrical, pneumatic and mechanical hardware problems. To be eligible for this position, you must possess a Virginia Electrician License and have experience in electrical, pneumatic, and maintenance troubleshooting.

Maintenance Electrician Responsibilities:

  • Ensure implementation of electrical safety guidelines and procedures is compliant with safety regulations
  • Ensure the reliability of plant electrical and control equipment
  • Perform routine and emergency maintenance on analog electrical, electronic, and pneumatic equipment
  • Perform periodic inspections, operational systems tests, and fault diagnostics to identify and correct issues
  • Ensure that electrical work conforms to ISO standards and guidelines
  • Perform acceptance tests of new equipment and inspect the installation of equipment and systems for conformance with plans and specifications
  • Perform original design work required to implement analog and digital system modifications
  • Prepare new, or modify existing, operating and maintenance procedures
  • Assist in preparation of work schedules for routine and shutdown periods
  • Use, maintain, and repair electronic, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic test instruments
  • Train new employees and other technical personnel in the maintenance of control systems

Maintenance Electrician Requirements:

    • Journeyman Electrician License is desired but not required with work experience
    • Virginia Electrician License
    • Five years’ experience or more in industrial electrical and controls maintenance experience
    • Valid driver’s license
    • Proficiency with instrumentation and programmable logic controller work
    • Experience with love/medium voltage distribution equipment
    • Working knowledge of industrial NEC codes and relevant Electrical Safety Procedures
    • Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, electrical schematics, and equipment manuals
    • Experience with utilizing a work order system within a CMMS
    • Experience using mobile equipment (forklift, Lull, man lift, scissor lift)
    • Ability to work in a team environment with production employees of different skill levels
