Engineering Technician

Qualifications needed: Must have a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Engineering, Polymers, Materials, Chemistry, or other related scientific or technical discipline. Experience with MS Office Applications including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Minitab statistical analysis softwear; Experience in data management including: collection, interpretation, graphical and statistical analysis to interpret experimental results and research based projects; Mechanical aptitude-hands on work; Ability to drive efforts independently; Excellent communication and organizational skills; Experience with composite materials and manufacturing.

Duties include: Supporting the research and technology (R&D) team in the development of high performance fiber-based composite material solutions for ballistic armor applications. Primary responsibilities are to support trials and product development operations; Work closely with research and development scientists to identify and evaluate new products and processes; Must be familiar with engineering principles, well organized and capable of independently driving multiple experiments simultaneously. A strong desire for hands-on sample manufacturing and experimentation is essential for success. You must be able to lift 30 lbs. and work standing for extended periods.

Maintenance Mechanical Position

Electrical PLC Technician

The Wauford Group, a family of diverse companies, located in the Chester area is now accepting applications for an Electrical PLC Technician open position located in one of our Chester Plants.

Job Description

Seeking highly skilled, self-motivated individual to join our technical department and support plant wide industrial automation processes. We are looking for an individual with expert knowledge in automated controls, including PLC, motor drives, hydraulics, pneumatics, instrumentation and temperature controlled heating systems. The individual should be able to independently diagnose automated system failures, decipher electrical and mechanical drawings, troubleshoot and modify Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC code to keep production equipment downtime to a minimum.

Responsibilities and Job functions:

  • Automation Controls – Knowledgeable in an automated machine setting. Ability to identify and analyze the root cause within a complex architecture of sequential automated production machinery (required).
  • PLC’s –Allen Bradley Control Logix, SLC500, PLC5. Able to go online and troubleshoot (required) and modify code if necessary (preferred). Siemens knowledge (preferred)
  • HMI – Interface and communications experience (required) with ability to create and modify screens and communications (preferred)
  • Motion – Ability to troubleshoot machine motion controllers and frequency drives (required).
  • Hydraulics – Decipher hydraulic prints, troubleshoot closed loop servo pump controls, directional valves, proportional valves, relief valves.
  • Instrumentation – Ability and working knowledge of instrument calibration procedures (preferred).
  • Temperature control – Maintain and program temperature control PID loops. Working knowledge of different types of thermocouples and RTD’s (required).
  • Electrical/Mechanical Drawings – Ability to read, decipher various drawings (required). Print, and modify ACAD drawings (preferred).
  • Computer Systems – Superior knowledge of Rockwell Automations “Factory Talk Environment” encompassing RSView, PLC’s, RsLinx, HMI’s, PowerFlex Drives.

Millwright Plant Maintenance Mechanic

The Wauford Group, a family of diverse companies, located in the Chester area, is now accepting resumes for a Millwright/Process Plant Maintenance Mechanic position.

Qualifications needed:  Past maintenance mechanical experience is a must as well as knowledge and understanding of industrial machine operations, mechanical systems, safety compliance, good housekeeping rules, procedures, and regulations.  A qualified candidate will possess previous experience maintaining accurate equipment, parts and supply inventories, and preparing mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing info and trends.  Must be able to be approved for a TWIC card.  PPE is mandatory.  Ability to work with a team is a must.

Duties include:

  • Ensure the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, pumps, and production machines
  • Follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications
  • Observe (by sight and sound) mechanical devices in operation and troubleshoot malfunctions as they arise
  • Use precision measuring and testing instruments
  • Remove defective parts by dismantling devices through the use of hoists, cranes, hand, and power tools
  • Examine form and texture of parts
  • Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques
  • Monitor compliance
  • Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
  • Provide mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests

General Manager

  • 7-10 years’ experience in manufacturing or research and development management

Manufacturing Manager

Responsibilities

  • Monitor production operations for safety and quality ensuring that all applicable regulatory and quality requirements including FDA and cGMP standards are met and followed
  • Oversee supervisory staff of day and night shifts in assigned areas
  • Assist in evaluating current and proposed systems and procedures, recommend changes when necessary, and assist in implementation of new processes to drive continuous improvement
  • Oversee the daily activities of the plant, workflow and worker schedules, instructing supervisory staff as appropriate
  • Review and confirm product specifications and production schedules
  • Plan labor and drive cost reduction initiatives to ensure that efficiency, productivity, and on time shipment performance targets are met
  • Notify Quality, Maintenance, Logistics and HR of any changes to the daily plan
  • Observe supervisors and employees performance to ensure safety, quality and housekeeping procedures are followed
  • Coach supervisory staff and other persons as appropriate in case of unsafe / unacceptable practices
  • Interact with customers and suppliers to understand and agree on expectations
  • Partner with Human Resources and on-site staffing services regarding personnel issues, hiring and termination

Critical Requirements

  • A college degree or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment is mandatory
  • Preference will be given to people who have recent experience in manufacturing management and in FDA compliance
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Production Management systems
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task concurrent project demands
  • Exceptional attention to detail, as well as organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and multitask

Senior Planner
