Various Production Positions

Production Machine, Laboratory, and Printer Operators

The Wauford Group, a family of diverse companies, located in the Chester area, is now accepting applications for various Production positions.  All of these positions are located inside in a temperature controlled environment.

These positions require experience in performing one or more of the following:

  • Using PLC controlled machinery and equipment to load large roll good material into a thermal calendaring line.
  • Monitors and adjusts PLC controls of thermal rolls as dictated by quality lab checks to ensure the proper specifications are obtained.
  • Operating and monitoring flexographic print decks through PLC and visual controls to ensure the proper specifications, color and brightness are obtained on the product.
  • Operating a state of the art testing laboratory. Testing samples of production material to ensure that it meets customer and building industry specification.
  • Operating state of the art converting and robotic equipment that ensures the finished product is packaged and labeled correctly.
  • Prepares operational and quality assurance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Textile Manufacturing Operator

Required Skills/Education/Experience:

  • High School degree or GED
  • 3-5 years of experience operating textile machinery
  • Dexterous and Mechanical aptitude

Duties Include:

  • Set up and operate various machines to manufacture textiles based upon defined product specifications
  • Observe fabric to detect knitting defects
  • Repair or replace worn or defective needles and other components using hand tools.
  • Maintain accurate records to ensure product and process traceability
  • Take ownership of equipment to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment
  • Assist in periodic review and update of standards and procedures
  • Adhere to all quality and safety standards
  • Maintain clean and organized work area with emphasis on safety, quality, efficiency and utilization

Maintenance Mechanical Position

The Wauford Group, a family of diverse companies, located in the Petersburg area, is now accepting resumes for Maintenance Mechanic positions.

Qualifications needed: Minimum of two years of experience in an industrial environment; Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance and Troubleshooting Background; Ability to use Electrical Diagnostic Equipment; experience with multiple styles of packaging equipment; ability to learn various processes, equipment repair and preventive maintenance.

Duties include: Maintain various pieces of industrial equipment by troubleshooting electrical and mechanical hardware problems; Perform electrical and mechanical preventive maintenance on machines; maintain facility hardware and mechanical systems; knowledge and understanding of Industrial Machine Operation and Maintenance and basic understanding of mechanical systems.

Millwright Plant Maintenance Mechanic

The Wauford Group, a family of diverse companies, located in the Chester area, is now accepting resumes for a Millwright/Process Plant Maintenance Mechanic position.

Qualifications needed:  Past maintenance mechanical experience is a must as well as knowledge and understanding of industrial machine operations, mechanical systems, safety compliance, good housekeeping rules, procedures, and regulations.  A qualified candidate will possess previous experience maintaining accurate equipment, parts and supply inventories, and preparing mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing info and trends.  Must be able to be approved for a TWIC card.  PPE is mandatory.  Ability to work with a team is a must.

Duties include:

  • Ensure the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, pumps, and production machines
  • Follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications
  • Observe (by sight and sound) mechanical devices in operation and troubleshoot malfunctions as they arise
  • Use precision measuring and testing instruments
  • Remove defective parts by dismantling devices through the use of hoists, cranes, hand, and power tools
  • Examine form and texture of parts
  • Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques
  • Monitor compliance
  • Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
  • Provide mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests
  • Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs

Plant Manager

Responsibilities

  • Monitor production operations for safety and quality ensuring that all applicable regulatory and quality requirements including FDA and cGMP standards are met and followed
  • Oversee supervisory staff of day and night shifts in assigned areas
  • Assist in evaluating current and proposed systems and procedures, recommend changes when necessary, and assist in implementation of new processes to drive continuous improvement
  • Oversee the daily activities of the plant, workflow and worker schedules, instructing supervisory staff as appropriate
  • Review and confirm product specifications and production schedules
  • Plan labor and drive cost reduction initiatives to ensure that efficiency, productivity, and on time shipment performance targets are met
  • Notify Quality, Maintenance, Logistics and HR of any changes to the daily plan
  • Observe supervisors and employees performance to ensure safety, quality and housekeeping procedures are followed
  • Coach supervisory staff and other persons as appropriate in case of unsafe / unacceptable practices
  • Interact with customers and suppliers to understand and agree on expectations
  • Partner with Human Resources and on-site staffing services regarding personnel issues, hiring and termination

Critical Requirements

  • A college degree or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment is mandatory
  • Preference will be given to people who have recent experience in manufacturing management and in FDA compliance
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Production Management systems
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task concurrent project demands
  • Exceptional attention to detail, as well as organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and multitask
